RECENT AND UPCOMING PERFORMANCES
OF MUSIC BY PATRICIA MOREHEAD

 

May 26, 2018, 2:30 PM: St. Andrew’s United Church, 399 Cassells St, North Bay, ON. The string quartet of the North Bay Symphony, North Bay, Ontario, Canada, premiered a new work by Patricia Morehead, Night Sky, inspired by the paintings of the famous Canadian Group of Seven .  The performance were accompanied by projection of the paintings being portrayed. The concert also included Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 8 in C-minor and Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 14 in C-sharp minor.

October 11, 2017, 7:00: Nadina Mackie Jackson presents. Patricia Morehead, Come dance with me the dance of life for bassoon and string ensemble. Also on program: APOLLO X. Concerto for electronic bassoon with strings and percussion. Nadina Mackie Jackson, solo bassoon; Paul Frehner, conductor; Out of This World Orchestra. October 1, 2017, Autumn Serenade. Concert including Jamie Thompson, flute, and Philip Morehead, piano, performing The Edible Flute by Patricia Morehead. All Saints’ Anglican Church, Huntsville, ON.

August 16, 2017, Celebrations, a concert in honor of Canada’s 150th birthday. Program incl. world premiere of How Oft When Thou Play’st (a setting of Shakespeare Sonnet 128) by Patricia Morehead for vocal quartet and piano. Performed by singers of the Highlands Opera Studio with Adanya Dunn, soprano, Emma Bergin, mezzo-soprano, Mathieu Abel, tenor, Samuel Chan, baritone, and Louise-Andrée Baril, piano.

May 7, 2017, 150 Years/150 Voices, A Canadian Choral Celebration. Program incl. world premiere of A Summer Rain for mixed chorus by Patricia Morehead. Performed by the College Community Choir of Lindsay, the Highlands Festival Singers of Haliburton and the North Hastings Community Choir, all under the direction of Melissa Stephens. Repeat performances on May 8 and May 9.
