Set to a Margaret Atwood poem about the cruelties of war, it’s ferocious in anger and anguish while sinking into deep pessimism. Soprano (Barbara Ann) Martin neatly conveyed the ambivalence urged on by Philip Morehead’s vigorous pounding.
