Composer Patricia Morehead has created a body of work of exceptional richness and breadth. Spanning the repertory from solo works to works for orchestra, her music employs a palette of sounds and structures that entice the ear and seduce the mind.

Patricia is the product of such diverse influences as Ralph Shapey, Shulamit Ran, John Eaton, and Dr. Samuel Dolin. Her extensive playing experience as an oboist in both traditional and experimental repertoire contributes to the multilayered nature of her works.

Born in Montreal, raised in Winnipeg, Patricia has since the mid-1980s been a resident of Chicago, Illinois. For twenty years she was Co-Artistic Director of the CUBE Contemporary Music Ensemble, an organization of which she was founder and which continues today to flourish. She was also a founder of the Canadian Contemporary Music Workshop in Toronto, Canada. She is an Associate of the Canadian Music Centre.
